Why cant they make a darker version of superman for the movie franchise?

Superman movie script writers should learn from Chris Nolan's success with Dark Knight and stop trying to repeat the superman movies of the 80s. Plus they should move in from looking for a Chris reeves look alike. New beginning pls.

I 100% agree. They need to aim at getting an actor that looks more like Superman than Mr. Reeves. That was stupid decision on the part of the crappy Superman Returns. Also make it a fight to the death against a real killer like Doomsday. It needs to have a serious tone, and all the slapstick with the Clark Kent character should be done away with. Make it epic! Joe Mangianello is a perfect choice for the Man of Steel, 6 foot 6, full of muscles, very good looking and the guy can definitely act. If not Mangianello, then maybe Jon Hamm.
